Getting ready to set off down
Tatshenshini river from Dalton Post along Haynes road.

Camp 4 by Melt Creek. We spent 2 days in this beautiful area and saw 5 bears the
first night we were there.

This brown bear was scavenging a salmon carcass by the river and never knew we were
there watching him.

Along the border between Canada and USA we climbed up approximately 6000 feet and
gained this beautiful vista from this little mountain plateau. The climb up was
steep and difficult scrambling and the crampons and ice axes we brought along came
in handy many times.

It was an indescribable experience to enjoy the views
from 6000 feet above the valley floor. The Alsek river braided up flowing along to
the Pacific ocean below the cliff in front.

Alsek Lake at the end of the raft trip is a wild treat. Three glaciers flow into the
lake. they calf gigantic icebergs into the lake where they float around depending on
wind and currents. Some as high as 30 meters or more.

The Alsek Glacier dwarfing our 12 foot raft in front.

The Alsek Glacier revealing it's true color after a large piece of ice broke off and
fell into the
lake.

Flying out from Dry Bay the flight took us over Alsek River with Alsek Lake in the
background.

Along the drive from Calgary to Yukon we passed Mount Robson showing off in the
sunshine.
It was impossible to pass all those great salmon rivers without trying our luck. Ola
brought in this 24 pound
(11 Kg) Chum Salmon in the Kitimat River, British Columbia.
